ARRK TOOLING UNVEILS NEW LOOK MOULD CENTRE AT LANGRISH
ARRK Tooling Development Ltd has just completed a major refurbishment of its moulding facility in Langrish, as part of a major investment programme.
Phil Mould, Managing Director of ARRK Tooling’s facilities in Havant and Langrish, is delighted with how things have gone over the past few months. “We wanted to completely modernise our facility in Langrish to be more efficient as well as providing us with additional moulding capacity”, he explains. “This has come about as a result of the significant increase in work we have won despite the economic downturn. To date we’ve invested around £500K in the plant.”
The 100,000 sq foot facility is a specialist tool trial centre as well as a niche, low volume production facility for some of ARRK Tooling’s clients. Having added 25t, 70t, 90t, 250t, 370t & 650t injection moulding machines from other facilities to our existing range of machines at Langrish, such as our 3200T, 1200T and 800T presses, the plant can handle a variety of jobs from bumpers to small medical components. Phil goes on to explain: “Whilst adding all these machines and installing a 5 axis, 6m bed CNC machine, CMM and Digital Scanning arm we’ve also refurbished and modernised the plant layout so that we have a more efficient throughput cycle. It looks fantastic and everyone gets a real buzz from working here.”
During this time ARRK Tooling has also managed to gain approval from a number of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, all of whom require strictly audited standards from their suppliers. Having successfully met these criteria the business is ideally placed to take on even more work in the future. However Phil is keen to point out: “Although we do a lot of work for automotive clients we are finding we are doing an increasing amount of tooling and moulding work for clients in the construction, medical and consumer markets. It’s a busy year for the company and its staff and we will be using the coming months to invite clients and other interested parties down to see our newly refurbished facility for themselves.”
